Minutes for K of C April 14, 2011

Meeting called to order at 7:30
Roll Call of Officers: All were present except Tom Schenck and Jerrod Robinson
Minutes of last meeting were approved with no changes.
Grand Knight Report:
Tomorrow will be the last fish fry for this Lenten season. They have been very successful this year. Would like to thank all who helped on them. Officers decided to create 5 broad categories to help the council best manage their resources for the fiscal year. They are Education, Parish Support, and Right to Life, Special Olympics and Evangelization. Dan showed a spread sheet of the five categories and were last funds would have fallen.
Chaplain Report; none
District Deputy Report:
Choice Clinic is getting closer to being able to open. Funds are still coming in for the ultra sound machine. They have $7,000 cash in hand and more pledged. If the local Councils can raise 50% of the cost Supreme will donate the rest. There will be an opening next month. There will be a 3rd degree May 1st in Ames. An 4th Degree Exemplification will be held in October.
Treasures Report:
Checking Account has $9661 and the Endowment Fund has $8729. Last fish fry had 400 people and the average came to $7.43 per person. The average net profit per fish fry has been $1400.
Financial Secretary Report:
21 still haven’t paid dues. One transfer from Decatur, IL. Motions were made to pay any outstanding bills it was seconded and approved.
Old Business:
Mike Musich gave an update on how the Squires program is progressing. Fred Tiernan mentioned the announcement for this year scholarships will be next week’s bulletin. Jim Tiernan mentions shirts were in.
New Business:
Fred mentioned that one of the parishioners Keith Minor is battling a serious illness and that in the future the Knights may be asked to help on a fund raiser.
Several Knights made several private donations to the Choice Clinic.
